Mustaque Choudhury life mission is simple. He wants to help others achieve their best possible outcomes. So, he tirelessly shares his expertise, perspective, and resources to help others succeed. In doing so, Mustaque has earned his clients and colleagues’ trust and admiration.
After immigrating to this country in 2005 with an Advanced Level degree in Economics from the University of London, Mustaque took the first job he could get. He sold shoes at Payless Shoes in Long Island. Determined to make sense of the U.S. tax system, he also enrolled in a class at HR Block. Upon completing the course, he realized others might benefit from what he learned, so he became a tax preparer. Quickly, however, Mustaque yearned to make deeper connections with clients, so he poured his boundless energy and passion into a career as a financial advisor.
Mustaque quickly took to his role as a financial advisor. In dedicating himself to providing extraordinary service, he exceeded clients’ expectations and earned top advisor status with the firms in which he worked. As he gained knowledge and experience, Mustaque successfully assumed leadership positions of increasing responsibility with MetLife, John Hancock Financial Services, New York Life, and now Fortis Lux Financial.
From the outset, Mustaque’s professional goal was to touch as many lives by making a positive impact on their level of financial security. To expand his influence, he recruits, mentors and develops other advisors who share his work-ethic, high level of integrity, and belief in doing what’s best for the client. Not only does he lead by example, but he also offers resources, tools, and guidance to help team members provide exemplary service to their clients too.
Mustaque has an MBA in Finance from City University of New York, his New York State Life and Health License and Series 6, 7, 63 and 24 FINRA licenses. He also speaks four languages: Bengali, English, Hindi, and Urdu.
He and his wife Sabrina and their young son, Ayaan, live in Queens. When not working or spending time with his family, Mustaque enjoys playing cricket, soccer, and video games.
