Toru started his career in 1990 with Ernst & Young in New York, NY as a Tax accountant. In 1993, he joined Deloitte and Touche, LLC. Over the next 10 years he performed leading roles in the Market Team for the Japanese Services Group as well as in Tax Department for providing services both the Corporate and Individual Tax. In 2004, he joined forces with MetLife as a Financial Advisor. His main target has been the Japanese Market in the Tri-State area: not only for those would live in the United States permanently but also for whose domicile would be eventually the outside of the US, mainly in Japan. As a financial advisor, Toru’s approach to a financial consultation is utilizing one of his strong and unique assets which is an expertise in US and International taxation including an Estate and Gift tax and the benefits of US-Japan Income Tax Treaty.
Toru is currently a Registered Representative with Fortis Lux Financial after the conversion of MetLife Premier Client Group into MassMutual in 2016. He continues to support his clients to strive to reach their financial objectives by providing the following such services and products as personal insurance, retirement planning, Long Term Care Insurance, and personal investment (Advisory Brokerage accounts and Annuity contracts) as well as disability income and health insurance. Recently, Toru has been requested by local Japanese community organizations such as Japanese American Association in NY (JAA) to hold pro bono seminars to their members on US Social Security.
Toru obtains FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 and holds an MA from the International Christian University (ICU) and BA in Laws from the Chuo University both are in Tokyo, Japan.
He lives in Mamaroneck, NY with his wife, Yuko.
