Even-keeled and process-driven, Roman Moldavsky is exactly the kind of person one would hope to find as Chief Operating Officer of a fast-paced New York City-based financial services firm like Fortis Lux.
“Fortis Lux is a high energy place that’s on a growth trajectory, “ explains Roman. “My role is to have the right team and the right controls in place, to help ensure that we can sustain our rate of growth.”
Roman started his career at an investment boutique firm on Park Avenue while still in college. As he advanced in skill and experience, he eventually found himself responsible for compliance oversight of several hundred Manhattan advisors. He joined our firm in 2013.
“I’ve sat in all the seats: I’m a client, I have been a financial professional, and I am also responsible for the successful operation of this firm,” says Roman. “It gives me a unique vantage point as to how to run our business in a client-centric way.”
Among Roman’s most valued clients are the financial professionals and staff within the firm. “I’ve made a commitment to helping others succeed,” he says. “I recognize that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help and mentorship of others.”
Roman attributes his own work ethic and drive to his parents, who immigrated to the United States from the Ukraine when he was very young. “Their success is testament to the power of hard work and vision,” he says.
When he’s not at work, you can find Roman spending time with his family, coaching little league baseball, and cheering on the Jets.
Roman graduated from the City University of New York, College of Staten Island with a BA in Finance.
